Skittles
There is a skittles alley just inside the main entrance of the Recreational Society.
We run a skittles league which currently has 10 teams registered. The league consists of a single division with each team playing the other 9 teams once during the season.
In addition to this there is also a knock out cup competition. The season begins in September and finishes in June, on average teams play every two to three weeks.
The Skittles League also runs three competition evenings which consist of Individuals, Ushers and Pairs. Trophies are awarded to winners and runners up of all competitions.
Teams may enter for the coming season’s competitions by registering at the annual General Meeting, held each July. The cost of entering is £45 per season. New teams may enter the league mid-season with the agreement of the committee.
A team consists of eight players, each team must register its members and each member must be a gold member of the Recreational Society.
The new skittles season will begin in October. Why not boost morale and form a team with your work colleagues? Alternatively, if you are an individual interested in playing but cannot raise enough players for a new side, there are current teams who would welcome new players.
