The Cricket Club is recruiting new members.
“Summer is just around the corner and the cricket season begins at the start of May. Are you new to the area and looking for somewhere to play, or keen to return to a game that you used to play in the past? Do you have friends or colleagues who are looking for a friendly local club with good facilities? The Cricket Club is looking for new players and can offer league cricket on Saturday afternoons, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings, with matches of short or longer duration to suit any standard. As an affiliated section of the Aldermaston Recreational Society, The Tadley Cricket Club has excellent playing and recreational facilities. Tadley play their Saturday cricket in the Hampshire League, with the matches starting at 1.30pm, The club fields two teams - the first XI play in County Division 4 Regional North and the 2nd XI in Regional Division North East Division 2 playing matches of 45 and 42 over’s per side respectively. The club also participates in both the Basingstoke evening league which is in a 20/20 format (normally on Tuesday or Wednesdays nights @6pm start) and the Guy Jewell local knockout cup.
Tadley Cricket Club is able to offer cricket for people of all standards. If there were more people wanting to play, the club would be able to organise more teams and more matches. The club is also keen to attract umpires and scorers. The club have a number of fully and partly qualified umpires who would be happy to give assistance and training to anyone who would like to volunteer to umpire or score, especially on a Saturday, where the league are trying to encourage the matches to be properly officiated.
