​The Recreational Society has extensive grounds providing Football, Rugby and Cricket facilities.  Also contained within grounds is a fully licenced club house with two bars, Sky TV, dining facilities, skittle alley, snooker & pool tables and a large function room.​

Membership of the Recreational Society entitles individuals to use the bar and social facilities along with Recreational Society sections such as Squash, Badminton, Tennis, Football, Rugby, Judo, Cricket, Bowls, and many others.

​In addition to Football, Rugby & Cricket facilities we also have Tennis Courts, five Squash Courts, Croquet Lawns & Bowling Green.

We provide a full in-house catering package and are happy to discuss your specific catering requirements for any type of event ranging from your family party to corporate event.  We also hold regular Theme Nights.  Our catering reputation is growing rapidly in the area with an extensive bar menu and specials board

Our Function Room has a seating capacity for 150 people, its own private bar, large dance floor and we can offer a full in-house disco package and catering.

Within the Rec Soc complex is the William Penney Theatre which has an audience capacity of 280.  The resident amateur company, The Boundary Players, aim to put on at least three productions per season, including a balance of comedies, farce, thrillers and serious plays.  An infrared hearing loop has recently been installed in the theatre for the benefit of hearing aid users, and disabled access is provided.
