We are monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus situation closely and will react to official government advice as-and-when it is released. You will notice that we have put extra soap in the toilets and posters encouraging everyone to wash their hands. Our operations are continuing as normal for the time being and if this changes, we will display an update in the bar and communicate via social media/through this email distribution. The safety and health everyone that uses our facilities is our number one priority and fully support that people will make their own risk-based assessments

Mothering Sunday

Sunday 22nd March 12:00-2:00pm

We have chosen to host our Sunday catering on Mother’s Day this month (Sunday 22nd March).

 

We will have a three course menu on offer between 12 and 2pm, menu to follow. The cost for the three course meal with be £21.95 per person.

Covid-19 restriction dependent, we are hosting a charity Rugby match between an Aldermaston RFC XV and a Project Mensa XV, calling themselves the ‘Mensa Barbarians’! This match will be raising money for the ‘State of Mind’ charity, an organisation which embraces the power of sport to promote mental wellbeing in men and women of all ages. The match kicks-off at 4.30pm on Wednesday 25th March at the Rec Soc and will include x4 twenty minute quarters.

Chairman's Chat

Third Wednesday of the Month - 5.30-6.30pm Main Bar

This month’s ‘Meet the Chairman’ event with Andy Stead is on Wednesday 18th March from 5.30-6.30pm in the main bar. All are welcome to come along and ask Andy questions or just have a chat!

As the summer approaches, our Cricket section are looking to promote the activities they run for all ages.

Organ Club Event

We receive a few queries a month about the process for joining the Rec Soc Gym (Weight Training Club) so have listed out the steps below.

 

  1. Rec Soc gold membership must be obtained first

  2. Navigate to www.recsocgym.co.uk to apply to join, quoting your Rec Soc membership number

  3. One of the WTC section will be in touch regarding arrangement of an induction

  4. Induction will take place and you will become a member of the gym section

An alternative drink for January

For those that do not already know – we’ve a brand new coffee machine behind the bar which is a big improvement on the previous one we had! If you’re taking on Dry January, why not give a tea or coffee from the new machine a go?!

This circuit training class is suitable for all levels of fitness, even complete beginners

Membership Cards

From 21st January 2020

A reminder that the change regarding membership card top-ups took effect in late January. You will no longer be able to put money on your Rec Soc card but any outstanding balances will be available to run down for the next year and the 20% drinks discount still applies on provision of a valid membership card.

The £5 minimum spend on card transactions has been lifted too.
